Following the governments announcement this afternoon concerning public safety amidst the coronavirus, we have taken the very hard decision to postpone this month’s Ironbridge Half Marathon event.
As you may be aware the government have today informed people to avoid all unnecessary contact and travel, asking people to avoid pubs, restaurants and theatres. Mass gatherings will not be supported as of Tuesday 17th March. As always, our aim is to stage an event that is enjoyable and safe for our runners, volunteers, spectators and general public and we feel postponing the event is the right decision given the information we have.
We are truly saddened we cannot stage the event on 29th March as planned and hope you will all understand this was a tough decision. A revised date will be announced in due course, but all runners who have received their race packs should keep them safe and ready for the rearranged event.
