What? This is the pre-race info for the Ironbridge Half Marathon 2024

Where? Telford Town Park, at 'The Arena'. See below for nearest car parks.

When? Race start 10:00 AM

 

Race Numbers

Remember to bring your Race number and pins with you (the pins are in the envelope). There is a small charge of £2.50 for this to cover replacement and admin should you forget yours and these will be available for collection on the day. If at all possible please email admin@jcracetiming.uk beforehand if you have misplaced yours so that we can prepare a replacement race pack for you. 

Some of you will have entered too late for us to safely post the race packs to you. They will be waiting for you at the Enquiries desk near the start.

 

Transfers

As per the Terms and Conditions we are unable to offer refunds or deferrals - sorry! If you now find yourself unable to run then you can transfer your place for a £5 fee. Please note that the new runner must bring the Race number with them on the day as we are unable to guarantee a replacement due to limited numbers of spares. The transfer must be done by Midnight on Friday at the latest. Please email admin@jcracetiming.uk to start the transfer process.

Safety

Running under someone else’s name can be dangerous in the event of a medical incident where mistaken identity can arise. Please also note that doing so will skew the results and can even lead to someone missing out on their podium moment!

Please follow this procedure in order to swap to a new runner:

• Hand over your Race bib to the new runner

• Pay a transfer fee 

• Send us the following details of the new runner

• Full Name

• Gender

• Date of birth

• Club if any

• Email address

• Confirm your full name and postal address

Race Finish

On completing the race you will be directed through the Finish Funnel where water will be available. You will then be directed to collect your T shirt, medal and other well-deserved goodies.  At this time, we will only be able to give you the T shirt size that was requested on original race entry. We will swap sizes once enough competitors have finished the race and we know if the size is available.

Once you have collected your goodies you can make your way back to the course if you want to support fellow runners.

 

Results

Your provisional* ranking and time will be emailed to you as you cross the Finish line. You can also wander over to the friendly folks at JC Race Timing near the Finish line for a print-out of your result. A bespoke Finisher's Certificate will be emailed to you a few days after the race.

*this is a staggered start race using chip timing throughout. Your position is likely to change so please take your initial ranking as provisional for a few minutes after you have finished.

Facilities

Temporary toilets will be available in the arena and will be open when you arrive. Please note that the toilets within the Visitors Centre will not be open until 10am.

 

Bag Drop
There will be a bag drop available. Please attach your tear-off baggage label to your bag before handing over. We strongly advise that you do not leave valuables in your baggage.

Headphones

As the race involves some roads to cross you will need to be aware of all marshal instructions. Only Bone Conducting headphones are allowed, e.g. Aftershokz. Please be aware that anyone found using other types of headphones will be disqualified.
